@N.Z673 years ago We’re not resilient, we’re numb. We’ve just had enough that we don’t bother expressing the pain and anger anymore. 97

@tarek51353 years ago Thank you for this video Uptin. As a Lebanese person myself who lives and works abroad and who hasn't been able to visit their parents in Lebanon for 2 years now, it's very disheartening to see where Lebanon was and where it is now, but thank you for showcasing the resilience of the Lebanese people and their strong will and desire to keep going despite the enormous daily challenges. ... 53

@marcobardus3 years ago With today's exchange rate ($1=18,000 Lebanese Pounds), in a day you spent about 504,000 Lebanese pounds, which are almost the national minimum wage, which currently stands at 675,000 Lebanese pounds/month. It's basically 10% of a monthly wage of a university professor or a doctor living here... It's good and cheap for you if you exchange "fresh" $ from an exchange office, but they all apply the illegal black market exchange rate. It's better to give the whole picture, so that people don't create false expectations - the country is collapsing. ... 52

@joeah34793 years ago A Man2ouche for 2.5$ is quite expensive in Lebanon, the Souk el Tayeb where you went is usually more expensive than ordinary shops albeit with a slightly better quality 3

@FabledCitylast year Love this content. The lira crisis has only gotten so much worse. Most people seem to be getting by but the situation has dragged on for so long since you first posted this that a lot of despair has set in. I did however do the bolt motorbike thing the other day to go meet a colleague who lives here and that ws quite an experience. He thought I was crazy for trying it. Seemed fun, wouldn't do it all the time in terms of mitigating risk! ... 1

Did you pay cash for transportation? if the credit card is the only option, currency is very bad for payment.
  • @
@Jzhongzhi3 years ago Lebanon could aggressively push their tourism industry and get some tourist sick from the lockdown in Europe to flyover for a trip, the fresh influx of currency and business could do a lot to help out the locals while also giving tourist a cheap/fun experience. ... 7

@majidmehmood37803 years ago The people who say these people are resilient trust me they are not they are just numb, in order to overcome this crisis Lebanon should kick out any foreign intervention whether it be Iran or Saudi, or Americans, do that and you will see the results yourself. ...
