This No Bake Chocolate Tart is a chocolate lover's dream. The tart can be assembled in under 15 minutes and can be made a day ahead. Since Oreos and Oreo like cookies come in many flavors and even gluten free you can really play around with flavors. I used Trader Joe's gluten free version of Oreos and the crust came out perfect.
Ingredients:
Crust
24 Oreo cookies (I used gluten free)
5 tablespoons of butter - 2.5oz/70grams
Filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
12 oz/340 dark chocolate chips
4 tablespoons of butter 2oz/57g
Method:
Put cookies in the food processor and pulse until they look like coarse sand. Add 5 tablespoons of melted butter and briefly pulse until combined.
Press mixture into the pan to form crust.
Freeze crust for 10 minutes.
Heat up whipping cream with 4 tablespoons of butter until butter melts and cream starts bubbling up, almost boiling.
Pour hot cream over chocolate and let it sit for couple of minutes.
Mix until unified consistency and chocolate looks glossy.
Pour filling into chilled crust and put the tart into refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
Let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes for creamier consistency.
