Bhindi Masala || Okra with Onions || Traditional Cooking || Family Cooking
Bhindi Masala is a popular dish made with okra, onion, tomatoes & spices! This stir fry is best enjoyed with warm roti, For me it is pure comfort food.
Bhindi Masala
Ingredients:
2 lbs. okra
1 tomato
1 onion
1 green chilli
1 tsp. salt
1.5 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. coriander powder
1/2 cumin powder
cilantro
Directions:
!!!Wash and pat dry the okra before chopping. If you try to cut the okra without pat drying it will be very slimy!!!
Fry onion until translucent, add tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, salt and 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well.
Add serrano peppers and okra. Mix well and cook until no longer slimy.
Garnish with cilantro and serve with roti, paratha, naan or rice.
