@CrossGenerationMedia4 years agoThank you all for your feedback! We received some comments about the role of "Negar", the little camel in our film. Of course the camel is not a symbol of Iran, it is, when you watch the film till here: - a part of a personal story, like all the other individual stories in this film too. Every artist in this film is just an individual story, we as filmmakers tell these stories and we are aware that there are thousands of other untold stories - worth to listen too. This is our art as storytellers. This film is a film, 100 % independently produced, a product of creativity, a result of 5 years travelling and work of 3 filmmakers and the artists they met during that time. We are very touched that so many people worldwide give us their feedback, share their feelings and their stories. If you like, just scroll down and you will find so many touching human beings with their love, their pain, their wishes, their needs, their hope. And if you want to listen more of that music, you find some concert recordings here: .....Expand42

@
@robertbrowning7904 years agoThank you - beautiful. It was so good to hear so many wonderful female singers and also to hear regional folk music that is rarely heard outside its home villages. I saw many wonderful folk groups when i visited Iran for the Fajr Festival in the 1990s - I saw and heard musicians from Bushehr and Khorasan, as well as Baluchi, Azeri, Kurdish, Turkman and many others but of course there were very few women included - life was even more difficult at that time - if a woman even showed a hair she would be stopped in the street! I invited some to come to NY for a festival that i was hoping to present of regional music from Iran. Unfortunately the US government would not give visas - finally they relented to allow jut Alhaj Gourban, an old singer from Khorasan and his son to come. And somehow we were able to present a group from Bushehr a couple of years later who went on a fishing boat to Abu Dhabi where they managed to get visas from the US consulate to come here. I would like to download this video to my Youtube channel so that my subscribers, many of whom are originally from Iran, can see it. I have been involved in presenting music from around the world in NY for 45 years I had founded the World Music Institute in 1985 and retired in 2011, only to start presenting concerts again in 2014. We have presented many Iranian classical artists over the years including the late, great Shajarian, Alizadeh, Kayhan Kalhor, Lotfi, Parissa and the Kurdish singer Ali Akbar Moradi as well as a number of young female singers. You can check out what we do at . Once again thank you for this wonderful opportunity to hear so many beautiful voices. .....Expand5
